We use a construction-to-permanent loan, which means one loan and one closing. You put down 10 to 15 percent, and we cover the construction interest while we build. The deposit to start runs $10,000 to $15,000.

Our recent builds have averaged about 210 days from start to move-in, a little under seven months. A smaller home with few changes can finish closer to 156 days. Design and selections happen before that clock starts.
